Many insurance companies offer discounts to policy holders who are over 50 years for auto or homeowner policies.
Some require the policyholder to be retired so you should check with your insurance agent. Here are some examples:
· Allstate - for those over 55 and retired, auto and homeowners policies are available.
· Nationwide - For seniors 55 and over auto policies are offered at a discount.
· State Farm - For those 50 and over, discounted auto and personal liability policies are available.
· Geico - NARFE members are offered special discounts for auto coverage in many states - call 1-800-368-2734 or consult the NARFE PERK page in Retirement Life for NARFE insurance services (1-800-233-5764).
· Hartford Financial Services Group -offers a 15% discount on homeowner policies for those 50 years of age and older and not working.
